IBM to set up business analytics lab
VISAKHAPATNAM: IT major IBM and Gitam School of International Business (GSIB), Visakhapatnam, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to help students enhance their skills in the areas of managerial decision making and strategy with the help of the career education for business transformation (CEBT) programme.
As part of this, an IBM Business Analytics Lab with be set up within the school premises and provide relevant software for CEBT trainings to address the increasing need for skills in the global market. Under the CEBT programme, IBM will collaborate with GSIB to help students understand the power of IT and use software tools that are critical for smarter business outcomes. Course completion certificates will be awarded by IBM to all participants completing the course successfully.
The CEBT programme focuses on major areas of business transformation where software plays a critical role and brings together the latest software content, real-world industry experiences, hands on lab course, best practices and case studies all into a single education programme.
Commenting on the collaboration, GSIB director Prof V K Kumar said, "GSIB introduced a good number of integrated courses in the second year of MBA and the latest is in the field of business analytics. IBM has done an excellent job in designing business analytics and developing the required infrastructure for the course which is why GSIB collaborated with IBM to set up the Business Analytics Lab in the school and offer it as an elective to its students from the current academic year."
